I have noticed on my 2nd Youtube channel, where I make tech videos; when I log in, Youtube will sometimes ask me if I want to use my real name for my Youtube account. With this account I don't, but I would like for my personal Youtube account to use my real name. I have had my personal account for some time now, and they never asked me if I wanted to use my real name. Is there a way to change my display name to my real name? Or is it only on newer Youtube registers? Which I think would be a dumb idea. On my 2nd Youtube account, I already have a name set, that is not my real name. So... |

Hmm, I haven't been asked either on my account I made a long time ago. When I made an account a few weeks ago, it did ask me, and I did use my pseudonym, and it did and made it. I mean I'm searching all around and I am not seeing a way to make your original accounts name to be your real name. I know that once you make a change of name, you're keeping it forever, in the case of the real name to username.
I did a little looking around for it, and they say that it is still rolling out for some people. Maybe it's taking a bit for older users to do this. I looked on the Youtube help forums and found this link. http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2657961 Again, they say they are still rolling this out to people, but I went ahead and Emailed Youtube Support team asking if this will be available to my account. I hope it will be, because not offering older user accounts the full Google benefit would just be sad. |

I know if you made a new account right now, you'd have your name. They go rid of usernames. Try searching around. |
