If you like an article on some random website, and you hit the like button, which posts the article on your facebook's timeline, if someone then hits the like button on your timeline, will it also like the article on the original page? Or do they have to open the article and hit the like button there? I hope this makes sense :P

I know what you mean! When you hit like on a website, it almost the same as sharing something on Facebook in a sense. So for example, if you liked an article, and it shows up on your Timeline, the friends who liked it on your Timeline is basically just liking the fact that you shared it. For your friends to like the actual article, yes they will have to click on it and hit like on there.

Sorry for the long answer for such a simple question. I just wanted to be clear of how it works.

Cheers!
