Have you tried like in the first image you have there to update the video card drivers from the manufacturer to get the latest ones. Could be as easy as that. And are all your patched up as well on thee operating system as well. With all the critical and essential patches.

I agree, upgrade the drivers, maybe that'll help.

It seems like the logical thing. Sometimes the drivers need to be updated from time to time from the manufacturer. I believe the reason why you had gotten that error was for the fact that your using an older set of drivers for your video card. And the requires a better video driver set for your particular model of video card. It had happened to me once or twice before for a game or two. Or even for an application that needed it. Since the older one did not have the optimization that the newer driver did.

You don't have an ICD file or Vias' equivalent. You need to go to their website and download their graphics accelerator driver.

Go to your start menu and to Accessories > System Tools > System Information. Click on it and then on the left side click on components and when the menu drops down click on display. That will tell you what graphics adapter you have.

Then go here and find it. http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp

Matter affact try these: http://majorgeeks.com/VIAS3G_UniChrome_Pro_IGP_d7287.html It's the latest drivers I could find, from November 2011. Try them, and report back.

DJ Scooby Doo: I downloaded it, but it doesn't seem to be installed, is there a different way to install drivers? I opened VModes.exe and the screen goes black for a second.

(Aug 26 '12 at 06:46) Yogi Yogi's gravatar image

You should go to the Drivers panel on Windows XP and manually install it.

(Aug 26 '12 at 12:43) DJ Scooby Doo DJ%20Scooby%20Doo's gravatar image

Then guide me, i have no idea how to install these drivers stuff.

(Aug 26 '12 at 13:13) Yogi Yogi's gravatar image

http://youtu.be/MFS7DUH7ULc?t=1m54s, this should help you. In your case, click display adapters and follow those steps.

That is one way of doing and I agree with DJ Scooby Doo. I would also have done is just go to the manufacturer website. And download the complete driver set. Which is like 60-80 megs in size as an example. That what I had to do with my geforce FX 5200 on my computer over here. Because it had everything it needed for the install itself.

(Aug 26 '12 at 21:16) Compucore Compucore's gravatar image

I tried going to the manufacturers site for his card, but I couldn't find it. A simple Google search got me those 2011 drivers.

Yogi when you right click on my computer in the start menu and click on properties. It will bring you to systems properties in windows XP. And high light hardware tab, And click on device manager. There should be a section for display adapters. Take a look and see what you have there in the display adapters. We can check with that. It'll give us an idea of which adapter you are working with.

(Aug 28 '12 at 21:42) Yogi Yogi's gravatar image

What? I don't understand.

(Aug 28 '12 at 21:48) DJ Scooby Doo DJ%20Scooby%20Doo's gravatar image

I meant that in the video, that guy used a trial account fot the software, but i want a free driver updater.

(Aug 29 '12 at 09:52) Yogi Yogi's gravatar image

That video was for reference on how to open the driver manager. You don't have to use that. I don't know of any driver updaters, but I'm sure the community would.
