Anyone here follow the development of the Haiku OS? It is a replacement for the BeOS of old. It looks really promising and they are due to put out a beta release very soon. Down the line I may even replace Linux with it, though it isn't ready for that now. What are your opinions of it?

I mainly use it because, it boots up incredibly fast, its unix, very responsive, nice lightweight desktop environment, nice interfaces, easy to use for most users.

Haiku is not Unix. It is a BeOS descendant.
