I have two audio outputs on my Windows 8 laptop, both 3,5mm jack. Since I have 2 sets of speakers plugged into them, I'd like to have the same audio output to both of them, so I can hear my music coming out from both speakers. But I haven't found any software to do this for me. The Realtek AC'97 software won't install for some reason or another. Since I have dualboot, I did install the Realtek AC'97 on my Windows 7, which works, but Windows 8 doesn't want to install it. So does anyone have a better solution? I just prefer the same audio coming out of both jacks. I'm getting tired of having to select the audio device all the time in the system tray. |

Sometime, a splitter is the simplest solution http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Speaker-and-Headphone-Splitter/dp/B00009WQSR/ No, that's not what I ment. I don't want to split 1 audio output to 2, but combine 2 outputs to 1. Your solution would be the complete opposite of what I'm trying to do. 1
actually, kevin is right, they are not directional, it will work either way. However I should mention a small audio mixer would be best. What I mean is how I can make my Windows 8 think there is just one audio device by using software comparable to Realtek AC'97, with which you can do this, but which Windows 8 doesn't support. And then that audio-output coming out of both of the audio jacks, so that I don't have to buy any type of hardware. There's no way you could do that, I mean two audio sources at the same time doesn't work. I tried it several times, and failed. I also have Windows 8, and Windows 7 does not have that ability as well. I agree a splitter is just best in your situation, a plug and go situation is better than messing around with settings and possibly messing up audio on your computer, until you re-install. 1
Unless there is a realtek software (not just the driver) for Windows 8, a simple splitter is the best solution, cause the software can tell the decoder chip what to do and without it, it will continue to think it is two output. To DJ Scooby Doo: there is software for this which does work on Windows 7, software from Realtek. And to Kevin Lockergnome: if that is so, then I won't get the hardware, but leave it like this. Hopefully when Windows 8 is out for a couple of months, Realtek might have released a working piece of software for Windows 8.

Wait so what you're trying to do is listen to two different audio ports at the same time?
Combining the output of 2 outputs, so that the same audio comes out of both of the audio jacks. Now I can't have one program's audio output to both my speakers, but just one at the time and I can only switch between them. I'd just like to get that audio output to both my speakers.
Can you provide a image of your port and wire?
