Hey Chris, I'm just wondering, do you think Microsoft are going to update the Windows Live Essentials suite of programs? I'm a hardcore Windows user, and I use Windows Live Main as my Email client and it hasn't been updated since late 2010, so do you think Microsoft are going to update it or discontinue it? Thanks. Could you answer this in the next Geek Out, thanks. -Jack S. |

they are not going to update it they have done away with much essentials is dead if you up loaded beta program it actually removes essential writer, mesh, and other parts .. even MSN has been reworked and pluged into outlook, Micosoft is moving cloud based they have been slowly making change to win 7 through updates over the last months I expect when 8 is released in october win7 users will get a few huge updates that shift things for win7 to the new cloud based stuff and hotmail live will come to an end .. if you been paying attention to mail if you have a hotmail and live accounts all were sent a notice give a chance to move all there contact and profile and such to outlook.com I forget the time frame but I think ift was 30 or 60days Sky drive files will be moved too .. keep your eyes open Skype to has been changed in looks and conected to the service too there is a method to there madness inorderto keep your MSN account and such you need an outlook mail address , in the end seems like they are goingto make changes much less painful to just get win 8 .. OK, thanks anyway. I know about Outlook.com. And I like it, but I prefer my Email in a desktop client, rather than the web version. Maybe I'll just get Office 2013 when it comes out and use Outlook in that. Thanks for answering. |
