I'm using TuneIn Radio on my MyTouch 4G, and when I click on my local station, lets say Z100, it says it's not available and it moves me to a Jersey station for a replacement. My phone doesn't think I'm in Jersey when I ping my location on Google Maps, it says I'm in the Bronx or the Heights which is accurate. What can I do that I can change it to my location? I tried re-installing to no avail. I try to access it on the New York section of the radio search, but it keeps saying I can't access it for some reason. I tried it on the I heart Radio app, which pings your location and gives you radio stations you can listen to, and it does say I'm in New York.

Edit, 24/9/12, Almost a month, Tune-in still does it -__-. It sucks when you're in the car with your homies, and you're driving next thing you know, BAM, station stops and plays a different one when you're just jamming to the music. Only about 3 stations don't switch over to Jersey stations, for example this Spanish station, Mega 97.9. alt text

it all dependent on where the phone is activated :)

and some times it dont work as you suspect because you can buy a phone and have it activated by a company who's main office is in another city Ip addresses work like zip codes in ways .. google maps and services like 4 square all get your location by IP so if I move my computer 200 miles from home whenI get a coonection and log on google maps or foursquare it automatically adjust my location for me .. you can not change who the IP block is leased to or there city location ..

you could call your provider and ask if its possible to reset your data or Ip for the city you want, that is the best advice I can think of ..

Hmm. I mean it's not that much an issue, but it gets me mad when I do want to listen to the radio (which is rare), and I only get Jersey ones. None of the New York ones come in at all. I can go to other cities, and play it fine, but the ones here are blocked. I mean if I ping it on SpeedTest.net's app, it'll come up as the New York server, and rarely a Jersey server.

You got get the iHeartradio app? It's also free and more and more radio stations are added daily. It even works in The Netherlands, while normal streaming through other apps or stations websites normally won't work because of the international streaming blockage...

Not all of the stations I want are on iHeartradio. They only cover Clear Channel stations and not everything else.

I was under the impression iHeartradio added radio stations of other networks too? Could be wrong tho..
