I want to make tech videos, however I don't want to have a camera set up pointing at me!, How would you do a tech vid with no cam pointing at you without the viewer feeling odd that they arn't seeing you say the news... http://www.youtube.com/playinfinite this guy is really good at reporting the tech news, I love his videos and he manages to pull off not showing his face, any advice and ideas on how he does it? I have a feeling that if I just talk over relative pictures I won't be able to pull it off. |

there is no real need to have a camera pointing at you, it just makes news more traditional, but really the focus should be whatever the topic of the news is eg this video does not show the person but his videos are very popular http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwnQ5VYPFC4 there are also radio shows/ podcast that are insanely popular and people are willing to listen to them for 2+ hours at a time. http://www.freetalklive.com/ many people actually prefer if a show can be done in audio only so they can do other stuff while listening. |

If you don't want show your face, make sure the visuals you show inspire interest. If you just show a bunch of pictures with voice overs, get good pictures and use something like the Ken Burns effect. Also, speak enthusiastically and get a quality microphone. At least that's what I would say. There may be a better solution. It also depends on the subject of the video. |
