I have a question for you, I have installed Win 7 on my MacBook Air using Parallels 8. My question is, should I install an antivirus program on my virtual machine or is it ok not to?

You actually got an answer from Chris! Nice! But it's not always going to happen. To better asure a repsonse, email him (http://chris.pirillo.com/contact/). Usually you'll get responses from others in the community (http://lockergnome.net/users/).
Yes, it would be wise to install antivirus software on that Windows VM if you plan on downloading / installing new software to it.
