Laptop Graphics Card?

I have a laptop.

The graphics are terrible when playing games.

I need a way to use some sort of external graphics card with this laptop to deal with the graphics while still using/displaying on the laptop monitor.

Running Windows 7 and no express slot.

Can it be done?
