Laptop Battery Problems! Help!

Hey guys, I have a very old laptop (Acer Travelmate 6293) I bought a pirated battery, and my laptop doesn't recognize the battery! Consequently I don't know how much battery is left and the biggest problem is the laptop doesn't start if I shut it down, because it thinks it doesn't have a battery! Help me, some one tell me a third-party software which can identify pirated batteries!!
