Energy consumption of home security system

Does home security systems take much power?

Well it depends on how much security you're adding. You could simply have a few cameras or go all the way to a Fort Knox style system. If you could elaborate on what you mean by "Home security system"?

For your basic wired one they dont use all that much, when you start to get into a little more fancy things like smoke detectors in the system, cameras, lasers, crocodile pits and shark tanks then the energy use gets more. Same with wireless, they will use more power

but in general power consumption is minimal.
