I can't play some of my MKV movies with my QuickTime player, anyone recommend a free HD MKV player, Blu-ray supporting will be prefered

The Swiss army knife of video/media player is VidelLan's VLC, which can play just about anything (just not blu rays, but it supports unencrypted mkv)

Unfortunately, due to barely any support from Apple, no Apple machines have a blu-ray player or support for licencing. To be able to play blu ray movies, you will need to first get a blu ray player and then you will need to purchase a program that has the licence to play blu ray movies.
