I am thinking of soon buying a BlackBerry curve 9320, but most geeks seem to think that BlackBerries are terrible. I'm confused; I quite like BlackBerries...

I converted it to a comment because that it where it was meant to be. You reply to someone's answer as a comment on it, not as another answer.

I don't like them, yet I don't hate them either. They haven't innovated in a very long time. Sure the BlackBerry Storm was trying to compete with the iPhone and some Androids but it didn't even come close. The BlackBerries are for businesses. That is what keeps them afloat instead of the floods of teens coming in to get BBM.

Actually 70% of my school use blackberrys... and partly because of BBM

My school's majority has iPhones and Androids now. Only the teachers have BlackBerries, but now the school is giving out Galaxy S III's or Note's. According to my AP US History teacher that just got her Galaxy S III on AT&T instead of Sprint which the school subsidizes.

I actually like RIM. Granted, Blackberries do carry some Canadian pride.

I don't think people hate them, but they have just been so stagnant that they have been left behind in so many ways. Nobody wants to have them now, its either WP, Android, or iPhone.

They haven't innovated to what people want. People want touch screen phones, something without a keyboard.

Not everyone does. Many people like them for the keyboard. They are often unreliable, and slow, that is what most people complain about.

Also there are touch screen Blackberry phones.

If you like them then they are cool. If not pick one you do like - Either way its not relevent what others think :)

well I currently use a experia x8 by sony and the sound volume settings are never working. if my phone says its on mute it often isn't and then when I play around with it for a while to mute it then when I try to unmute it... it is still muted -.- and the touch gets on my nerves with unlocking in pocket then theres the apps well since my phone is running a VERY early version of android most epic apps don't even work on the system. I don't even have the update for google play. so keeping all this in mind I don't think most unreliable problems will be any more of a problem than atm.

list of what the unreliable problems are please?

No one really hates them. They just don't offer anything that their competition can't.

No, they have alot that other companys can not do. they combine simplicity and classic features with awesomeness and uniqueness. BBM is COMPLETELY unique and is something that most my friends use : FREE TEXTS TO MOST FRIENDS!

(Oct 09 '12 at 13:20) benwatkinsart benwatkinsart's gravatar image

BBM isn't unique anymore. It's been replicated by the likes of iMessage and Facebook Messenger

(Oct 09 '12 at 13:24) ItsDaveyB ItsDaveyB's gravatar image

its still unique, its the others that arn't... facebook messenger? that's completely out of the question LOL

I have just switched to a blackberry (the curve 9320) and am amazed with the services,Design and the premium feeling. BBM is amazing and 40% of my friends use BBM so it is very useful, blackberry 7 is amazing and am hoping the blackberry 10 update will be given to curve 9320 uses and will be compatible : the only thing I have not been very pleased with is the facebook app, however I wouldn't use it that much anyway. overall amazing - and even better for the price range!!!
