when someone is cremated, all the ash, metal (from surgery like hip replacements, plates put in to hold the bones together from a break), and any parts of a coffin that haven't burnt are removed, usually a powerful magnet picks up the metals and they are removed, the rest go into a machine that will turn all the bones to a powder.
