I'm wondering if it's possible to integrate voice recognition software with PC games to improve chat features so that rather than having to type where perhaps you have to pause what you're doing or re-locate to a safe zone to chat you can just talk through a microphone and have it appear as text? Programs like skype are an obvious way to chat with friends while playing a game but not with total strangers especially when you're jumping in and out of matches as you do in Diablo 3 for example. This would be a great feature for those who have a headset or built in microphone, as a D3 player it would be great to have something like this as stopping to type often get's you killed or left behind as people don't stop for each other. Could we see something like this soon?

why not just send the audio over?

the issue is humans can understand people in almost any situation, however computers have a more difficult time. if the person is excited they are not talking slow and clear. So I dont feel it is a limitation of the computer as much as it is a limitation of humans.
