Im getting a strange error message.
Error message: "Confirm Your Phone Number", "Hi Blake, To continue using Facebook, please click on the link we sent to . This will confirm your phone as your contact address."
Actions: Option 1: Resend Confirmation SMS Error: "Unknown Error", "Sorry, a temporary error has occurred. Please try again in a little while."
Option 2: "Insert the confirmation code from the SMS instead." Error: "Error Updating Email", "Sorry, we're having trouble updating your email address. Please try again later."
I don't have a cell phone.
I don't get email.
I can't read messages sent to me.
Here is a picture:
I tried emailing facebook staff, but i am really not sure as to who to contact. So far all emails I have tried so far have given me unhelpful robot responses.

What happens when you click "forgot password"? you should try it, if you haven't yet. Maybe you get to skip this part if you reset your password.
Edit: Make sure it is facebook.com and not a phishing site.

Give up! This whole runaround is riddled with flaws and you're more likely to be struck by lightning than succeed in negotiating it. I've now lost two Facebook accounts to this alleged security check and maintain my current one only by remaining logged in at all times (which of course ... oh well, nobody said it had to make sense!) The assumption is that everybody who has a Facebook account has a mobile/cell phone which can receive SMS. Well I don't and I'm sure as hell not going to get one just so that I can continue using Facebook! And there are no workarounds!
Like all complaints to this esteemed organisation, all your attempts to contact Facebook will fall on deaf ears (what, you thought they valued your custom?)So fageddaboudit! If you can't live without Facebook (I only use it for games now) then start another account with a different email address and never log out. Otherwise sign up to a less inflated social network service - pretty much all of them deserve your account more than Facebook!

are you sure it necessary to have a cell phone ???
I know G+ I was able to give my land line number and the code was a verbal recording i typed it in and all was go ..
this is the way everyone is going it verifies who you are helps prevent multiple accounts and and the day of the anon coward type bully is over Facebook to is trying to rid its self aliases, the problem with the old way is that anyone could use any name they wanted and anyone could set up pages for bussiness now you have to conferm who you are to have an account not just anyone can set up an account with a celebrity name or company page..

Hey, No need to worry.. You should login to "m.facebook.com" and there you can enter your email address and try to login... You will get option to Re-send confirmation code to your EMAIL.. you can select that for going further.. Just 5 mins before I'v re-activated my fb a/c...:) Good luck...

The "m.facebook.com" link is now a bad link. Basically, if you give Facebook your phone number then you need to have access to BOTH email and cell SMS in order to reset your password. The steps are: Ask to reset by email, Get email, get confirmation code. Enter email confirmation code. Enter new password, twice. Get screen telling you to enter code sent to your phone via SMS. If you don't have the phone or that phone is a landline, you are dead in the water. Press "resend" (although pointless) gives a "temporary error." Still "temporary" in February 2013, 8 months after above original post.
