[closed] How to convert avi movies to h.264 for my iPad3?

I downloaded some avi movies and need to play them on my iPad3, I thinks I need to convert them to h.264 that can be supported on new iPad. I cant found a freeware to do it so can you share me one or other way to play avi movies on iPad3? Thanks! Bobby.
