I am trying to find an audio recording device with a 1/4 connection for guitar or other instruments and an XLR input for a microphone. Internal or external would be fine but if external then I would like it to have USB 3.0 or Firewire connection. Does this exsist?

Here's a good USB recorder:

If you want to record via XLR a lot of sound consoles have recording features, you could hook up your Guitar to a console and record to a Thumb drive.

I've heard good things about the Zoom H4n. Here's one link Here
