Is there a "simple" calculus equation where the answer is 18? We're baking a birthday cake for our son (turning 18) and want to decorate it with an equation instead of "happy birthday," but don't know calculus! (He is taking multivariable calculus, so we'd like to use the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" somehow, if possible, because it sounds so grand.)

Kevin, did you read the question? I don't see how this could be a homework question...
This is a textbook case of a homework problem. Even though it does not say it, it is easily identifiable as one
I've taken lots of calc courses. I've never been asked to find just any old random equation involving calculus that equals 18... I think we're safe here.
Its a formality
At kevinlockergnome: I'm 58, my son is 18. It was his birthday today. He's taking a multivariable calculus class this semester. When he has a problem with homework he calls up classmates until he gets an answer. You probably haven't been in school for a while, or have kids in high school. Happy Friday! Jim
I am in college right now... as a matter of fact
