Is there any way to play an old version of Minecraft?

Hello everyone, today I was thinking that it would be fun to play minecraft beta 1.2 or 1.3. Well, I don't really know how to go back to that. I've looked all over but I cant seem to find a way to do this. Would any of you know how to do it legally and safely? I am a registered user, but I want to play an older version. I really miss some of the old glitches and things from them. And if it helps I am on a Mac running Mountain Lion. Any help would be appreciated.

If you google search "Minecraft Beta 1.2 Jar" You should be able to find an older Jar file to replace your current one. I would do a back up of your current jar file, as well as your current saves.
