Whenever I put my computer into sleep mode, and bring it back online, a program/files are gone. I have to keep reinstalling my wireless Microsoft mouse software, music client is disappearing and I have to re-use the setup. I have already tried running security and more things of that nature. Help? - Windows 7.

reinstall windows... you could have malware or some system file has been corrupted.

No way about fixing the registry and such? Not that simple? Or any scanner you have good faith in that I can run?

I agree with @trueb, that's just the way it is sadly.

if it's malware the only true way to remove it is to reformat and reinstall. For me I do it every 6 months or so if need to or not.

PS scanners are only good at telling you if you have been infected, not all that good to remove things, viruses are like weeds, if you don't get all the roots up, it will come back. If it is not malware, finding that one thing to fix in the complicated windows system is like finding a needle in a haystack - a haystack that you cant open up...
