I know that this question isn't related to technology, but should I get a Smart Car? It is a good value (new model starting at $12,000) and has lots of features. What I don't like is that people make fun of the person driving one. It even has great MPG! http://www.smartusa.com/ |

Well if the only thing you have against it is that people will make fun of you for driving it then buy it, do not let other people rule your life. Personally I do not like the car, most of my family including myself drive SUVs and that is just what I am used to being in and like the ride height that you get however, they do not have good gas mileage if that is what you want. However, if you like the car go for it. You can actually find a decent used car for around 12,000 looks around online. You can even get an SUV if you want. Also as a note the smart car really does not have many features compared to a different car, but in that price range new, it is hard to beat. |

I mean the whole point of a SMART car is to use it for LIGHT day to day use. This isn't going to be for cross country driving or off roading. This is more for getting to work, going home type of a car. So I'd say if this is what you're going to use it for, get it. If not, I'd look for a Toyota Camry or some coupe that would work a little better for the more heavy user. |

Honestly, if you're looking for the most bang per dollar, the Nissan Versa (sedan) is about the most valuable car. If you get the manual, it doesn't even cost $11,000, and it has triple the amount of storage that a Smart car has. |

I honestly wouldn't recommend anything like a smart car. city cars are terrible, they are only good for distances which you may as well walk. If you are getting it as a second car for lower gas mileage then yes. If you are looking for a descent car which is going to last you a while (& actually make it up a hill) then get something bigger. It doesn't have to be an SUV. Speaking from experience I recommend you consider something a bit bigger to realistically take you places. You'll regret it when that time comes that you need to make a bit of an unexpected long journey. |

I also dont think that it is very nice, else every person has his own choice. |
