This is a tough one.

Trying to resolve for quite some time now, an issue with recently acquired Logitech Headset plugged to Debian. It works just fine on Fedora 17 and Ubuntu (haven't tried other systems) but fails on Linux Mint Debian. Have posted over there and elsewhere (with no solution so far) so I hope to possibly find an answer here.

I wouldn't consider this an answer, because I can't answer this as I don't use Linux very often. However, have you tried updating drivers? Maybe reinstalling them if it's the latest?

Drivers and system are all up to date. For some reason this only happens on Debian (LinuxMint Debian to be more precise).

Sometimes Debian will chose the wrong output method (digital or analog). Make sure the one entered is relevant to your headset. You could also try googling the headset + distro + issue for a solution. Hope this helps.

The headset is recognized, even the volume controls on it work. There is simply no sound getting to the earphones.

It should have a setting for digital and analog output. If digital is selected there will be no sound. That's fairly common.
