I'm wondering if anyone expects Apple to develop touchscreen-enabled MacBooks with the OS to support it now that Windows 8 has been released and new touch-enabled products are hitting the market place to utilise it? New Ultrabook lines have me really interested in Windows for the first time in a long time, especially those Ultrabooks that have rotating screens! It would be awesome to see a the same kind of development from Apple with a MacBook Air, for example, having a touch-enabled rotating screen making it a Mac/iPad hybrid.

If you really want touch support on OSX you could try this for the iMac.

In a future, the way things are going, don't be surprised when we see a similar UI in Macs and iOS, they have started porting over apps from ios to Mac and from Mac to iOS ( like iPhoto) also with the intro of iCloud, Steve left at Apple the thought that the Mac isn't the Content center, instead just another device, taking apple to consider each device is equal to another, apple is know testing Mac OS X 10.9 and when that comes out what will happen?

iOS and Mac working the same way.
