I am currently in a position in which I need to write a few-page-long memoir. What are some tips to write my memoir? Do I have to write in chronological order? Is it okay to add bad experiences in or do I keep it uplifting? What do I talk about? Must I write about my family? My interests or things that have happened? Or both? Thanks in advance. I look forward to replies. |

A memoir is really just you explaining how you got to where you are. Events don't have to be chronological and you only need to include who/what you want. As it is a life story not an autobiography write it so whoever is reading the memoir can follow your life. Ignore the 'boring' parts of life and focus on important events. It doesn't need to be 100% accurate, just how you remember certain events. Including a mixture of good and bad memories is fine. Focus on what you learned from these experiences and how they shaped you as a person. |
