A friend mentioned this to me when i was talking about getting contacts, pretty cool artificial implants have been developed that will give the user better than 20/20 vision in other words high definition vision making everything sharper and perhaps even make colours more vibrant. I've considered getting laser eye surgery for some time but i'm dubious about the safety of it and the long term effects. Considering it's only been around a couple decades no one actually know if there'll be degradation later in life but i think i'm approaching the age where i'd be willing to take that kind of risk at least, still unsure about the whole laser being shit into my eye etc. But i would go for one of these artificial implants, it's one thing to get laser eye surgery to correct your vision but to enhance it beyond our natural limits that could make you see things in a whole new light would be just too good to pass up, how about you?

Hell yes I'd do it. My eyes are just total shit, I have myopia and astigmatism and I need all of the help I can get. I'm thinking of doing LASIK, but people say I should wait until I'm 21 for that. However, I'd wait until people work out the kinks so I could get it.

imagine how good HD movies and gaming would look with better than 20/20 vision! i think this needs to subsidised like heck so we can all get it done! But what's the next step? What else could they do with an artificial lens, perhaps something like smart glass but in your eye?

Well hold on now, we shouldn't get all hype about this yet. I mean there might be serious side effects to this. I like testing but not testing anything that could be hazardous to my health like... this. :/ Won't do it unless everything's squared away.

If this is legit, I'd want it. It would be epic!

HD movies and games would look like crap with better than 20/20 vision, because from a foot or two away I can see the pixels if I had better than 20/20 vision I could see it from even farther away.

I probably wouldn't get these just yet. These sound really good, but no-one really knows of the side effects, which will be caused to human health, and also there are bound to be several risks associated with installing these. However, I would say in the future, a majority of the bugs will have been ironed out which will mean that there will be fewer risks involved. I would certainly think about getting these in the future, but at the moment, probably not.
