Is it possible to change screen resolution on Jelly Bean? Nexus 7?

I'm wondering if it's possible to change the resolution on Jelly Bean but more specifically the Nexus 7? I'm wondering because there's an application for my Retina Pro that pushes the resolution all the way which you can't do through regular settings, but can that be done on Jelly Bean to fit more on the screen and make everything sharper?

Your Nexus 7 is already be running at the highest resolution that your tablet can handle. The reason you Retina Pro can do that is because most of the time Mac OSX is programmed to not run at the highest resolution to prevent problems in the UI and things being to small the only time the resolution changes is if the program running allows and is setup to do so.

So short answer, no that is the best that screen in your tablet can do.

It will always run at the native resolution but you can scale the UI within the native resolution by adjusting the DPI, eg you can change it from 160dpi to 120dpi ( which causes the OS to scale down the UI and fit more on the screen).

for dpi adjustments, you will need to find someone on xda developers who is willing to make you something that you can flash with clockwork mod in order to adjust the dpi.

This is the closest to what you want to do.

However, there's no need to flash things, or bug the users on XDA. There are lots of apps in the Play Store that can change your DPI (you will need to be rooted of course).

After you've loaded up the app and changed your DPI, you just need to reboot to see the changes, however I should warn you that drastic changes may cause a bootloop, so be careful.
