I have an Android device with some games on it. I'm about to do a factory restore on it and I don't want all my saved games to go away. My Android device is not rooted and I don't want to pay for an app. |

Yes Rooting voids the warranty. Depending on the device is if there is an option to unroot. Yes there are ways that a Manufacturer can figure out if the device has been rooted, but again it all depends on the device. There is no fail safe way to say with 100% certainty that you can do this and not have it held against you. But if you want to save your games, you have the choice to make. Either you can void your warranty and keep your data or keep your warranty and lose your data. There is no way to have the best of both worlds. |
