I have a file that needs to be converted from .dav to .avi or .mp4. I would like a free converter available for Windows 8. Can anyone help me out?

I found one here that someone claims to have thrown together to do just this. I also found this, some people are saying it works for them others are saying it doesn't.

If all else fails you could just play it back with the proprietary software and record your screen with Camtasia (or a Demo version of it).
