How do you re-size a Gnu web browser?

The Chromium browser on Joli OS is difficult for me to re-size. In fact, I often find this problem on Ubuntu-based systems. It's a Gnu thing. (Ha, dig that pun!) I find it so very easy to point, click and drag the lower-right corner of a web browser in Mac and Windows web browsers; why does it always seem so difficult in Linux desktops?
