Just received a new computer (Windows 8). My problem (or is it?) is that my router (wired connection) is appearing as a public network. I'm trying to find out how to change this to a home network.

Somewhere along the way it asked me if I wanted to share information between device. I picked no. Could this be why it set it to a public network?

Although the window looks very similar in Windows 8 I found that "Public" was not a link as mentioned in the above page. I ended up following this
