Windows 8 - Internet Connection Not Recognized After Sleep Mode

I have a cable modem connected through a Linksys router (wired). When I first turn my computer on everything is fine it detects the connection and off I go. My problem starts when I wake the computer up from sleep mode. At this point the connection is not recognized. I end up having to restart the machine and at which point the connection is detected again.

Anyone have suggestions? I have checked and installed all Windows updates

Which version of windows are you using. That would help out a little bit. Even my lenovo thinkcentre doesn't have a problem and I am running windows XP SP# 32bit over here. And it goes into hibernation over here.

You have the same adapter as me and mine works fine. May I suggest reinstalling the drivers, see if that makes a difference.

Use these drivers from the Asus site http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/Intel_Gigabit_V17200_XPWin7_8.zip
