Well, the cause is rather simple. That good reason would be the fact that Java made many items over the world wide web to openly move. The truth is, Java has aided in broadening the internet. The world wide web have turn into dynamic because of Java. Internet surfers are now able to enjoy several apps as well as programs on the internet which makes internet use not only more fun but additionally simpler.

Not only that. Java can run on many different system. Whether it is a cell phone, tablet, PC and Mac, Mainframe, supercomputers. So long as they have the runtime engine installed on them. It will work on all of them. Modt cell phones have the java runtime engine already there. And do not have to be installed like on a regular Mac and PC or on a Server, Mainframe, or Supercomputers.

javascript is extremely widespread but regular java (Java VM ) is less popular, especially on the web because it has a ton of security flaws and uses a ton of resources (A hello world app written in java uses more resources than a torrent client written in C++)

Javascript is also full of security issues but it is still accepted because of how much functionality it adds. (just use a extension like noscript)

Javascript has nothing to do with Java. It was created by Netscape and was just named similar because of the popularity of Java and the fact that Java was added to Netscape at the time it was released.

In the past Java applets seemed to be used more on web pages, but now not as much.
