My printer requires restarting my PC to print

HELP its an EPSON L110 printer on a windows XP SP3. after i go idle for sometime, it doesnt print it only shows a little printer icon on the notification area and does nothing, nothing on the print queue even but after i restart my PC, it prints. any idea why?
