I am about to get an AMD A6-5400K and was wondering. I know I can go into the BIOS settings and do it but I wanted to see other options out there. |

The BIOS as suggested is the safest approach, since most modern boards will give you an option of resetting the configuration either at an early stage, or to do it automatically upon multiple failed boots. Should an overclock be particularly unstable then you might not be able to boot an OS to use a software tool. |

Normally depending on your motherboard there will be software included. This is the only one I would even recommend using, and even so, this is not idea, you want to use the BIOS as this is the most stable and reliable way of over clocking your processor |
