Hello everyone, I have another issue which I'm having a hard time solving. So my big old laptop died on me recently and I thought it was gone until one night I put Windows 8 on USB stick and tried booting it that way. This caused the computer to be completely formatted , W7 OS and all. (Maybe the card drivers were deleted?) It actually worked and I thought all was swell , but then I tried playing a game (WoW) and I was getting such terrible FPS on the lowest settings that I couldn't even move properly. Before , I used to play at 30-40 FPS on Ultra , but now , I get 5-6 on Low. I also tried doing the Windows Rating and I got a score of 2 for the graphics which used to be in the 5.5 area. I also tried looking at Device Manager>Display Adapters and all that was there was : Microsoft Basic Display Adapter , not the name of the graphics card. If any of you have any idea what could be the issue , I'd be very grateful for any help/feedback you can provide. Valdis |

Did you try going to the manufacturers website and try to get the drivers from them? |

That particular driver is for basic functionality until you get the proper driver. It doesn't have acceleration. You can go to the manufacturers website to find out what display adapter you have and then search for the current version. |

download GPUz and run it, then check the box that allows it to refresh in the background http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/ after that run a game for a minute or 2 then close the game and immediately on GPUz click on the tiny camera icon and have it upload the image to a free host then post the link here. This will allow us to see if the GPU is clocking up and down properly |
