…If there was a forum aspect of it and you could only see threads made by your friends? You could see posts on threads that were made by friends of your friends, or some way like that so that everybody sees the same posts on the same thread, but only threads made by their friends. This way, you could expand your friends list, but it would reduce the chances of you seeing spam threads. You can also block seeing posts or threads made by certain people on your friends list.

Would you use it? I know I would.

I don’t see why people even use facebook. who really cares what you will be doing in the next 10 minutes? I know i don’t…

Id rather have a real discussion with real people, something that has been missing on social networking sites.

Facebook connected me with the people from my Air Force unit that I forgot about years ago. Helped me find friends from 20 years ago when I was growing up. No other site has done that for me.

okay, i apologize; I guess i am only looking at facebook from the general high schoolers perspective. adults use facebook in a much different way than teens

It's easy to hold conversations with real people on Facebook, and if you want a discussion between a group of people, they have a discussion function, you just have to enable it.

And it's not like teens don't have long lost friends...

Would that be Facebook anymore...?

I think it kind of defeats the purpose...

define facebook for me please. Exactly…

It could be a separate aspect, or a separate site run by the same people, but I just assumed it would need to already have a huge user base before it even launched for it to work, and it would cost a lot of money, so i just lumped it with facebook.

What I'm saying is that Facebook is unique in its own aspect and if you change it to be something similar to a forum or something else it just wouldn't be the same anymore.

It would be an interesting feature but I don't know if I would enjoy the forum in such a diverse environment. I enjoy forums on specific interest areas on specific interest websites.

thats true, there would be no collective interest, it would just be general bullshit. There are many flaws to the idea, but I thought i would throw it out there.
