Macbook Pro or Macbook Air?

Hi,

I am currently a high school student, and I am looking into buying a Mac laptop to use at the school that I attend. Would a Macbook Pro 13" or a Macbook Air 13" be a better buy?

Macbook Pro 13" - 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, 1280-by-800 resolution - 4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 500GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm - 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) - Intel HD Graphics 4000

Macbook Air 13" - 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, 1440-by-900 resolution - 4GB memory - 128GB flash storage -720p FaceTime HD camera -Intel HD Graphics 4000

I plan on upgrading the MB Pro with new RAM (16GB) and a SSD that is 256 GB.
