Hey I was going to get the iPad mini should I wait for the next one to come out? |

It's really up to you if you want to get one right now or wait. Some people are expecting Apple to move towards a faster update cycle, but we really have no idea when the next one will be released. The current mini lacks a retina screen, which is noticeable if you've been using retina devices already. If not, it's plenty fine for most people. It also shares the same specs as an iPad 2, which means current heavy duty apps might struggle on it. If you plan to use it as just an everyday device however, it should serve you just fine. A lot of people find the smaller form factor of the mini to be more enjoyable to carry around, which I have to agree with. We are right around the middle of its life cycle. Remember, your older ipad mini doesn't become useless just because a new one comes out. |

go for an ipad 2 or 3 if you can instead, the ipad 2 is better, especially when it comes to overall specs and how close the prices are. (when going from the ipad 2 to the ipad mini, you are giving up a lot just for a batter camera which still sucks) if you need 7 inches, go with a nexus 7, It has better specs across the board (except the GPU) for half the price PS the ipad mini is not very good for video, as the aspect ratio ensures that you will not be able to use your full screen space when watching video. If you need the smaller size, then shop around and compare other tablets because apple is really overcharging for the ipad mini |

The iPad Mini is a great tablet. There is no real difference in screen quality and I find it great to watch videos or movies off it and play games. It's small and light which means you can easily lie loan whilst having the iPad mini and it not be a discomfort (something I found a problem on larger tablets). The speakers are great and I recommend getting the iPad mini now. |

I heard that the next one is expected to come out some time around the middle of this year. I honestly don't think waiting six months is worth it. |

It's always a bit of a gamble when buying tech. You can get the latest and greatest, and hope it will still be current in a year or two. You can buy last year's model when the new ones are released. You can save money that way. In the end the question is how badly you want the item, and what risk you might make. |
