I've been working on a new PC for a few days now and I don't know if my choices are good enough. The PC is going to be used for the following:

  1. Video Editing
  2. VFX
  3. Gaming
  4. Game Design

The PC does have a lot of purposes and I do have somewhat of a limited budget so here are the parts I've been considering:

  • CPU: Intel i5-2570k (3.4G)
  • MOBO: Asus P8Z77-M PRO
  • RAM: Kingston Hyper X BLU 16GB (4x4)
  • GPU: Nvidia Asus GTX660Ti OC 2GB DDR5
  • STORAGE: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200 12rpm
  • POWER SUPLLY: Cooler Master GX Series 650W
  • COOLING: Thermaltake Contact 16 CPU Cooler
  • OPTICAL DRIVE: Samsung 22x SH-S223
  • OS: Windows Home Basic 64-Bit
  • CASE: Ttake Commander MS-I

This is going to put me to a price of Php 55500 which is around 1800 USD.
Additional Question: Can anyone suggest cheaper parts?

Others might have better opinions, but to me personally I think this is a minimum of what you need the computer for. With video editing, you need a decent processor and decent amount of ram, I suppose something like 7GB Ram is pretty much as far as you should go, but wouldn't skimp on anything else.
