Hello, I have a socket 775 Intel Pentium 4 in a D915GAG Intel motherboard. I want to know if I can purchase an Intel Pentium D 945 Processor and install it without a trouble. Intel says that it's not compatible, but I have a feeling that it will work. Can you help me figure out whether there's a compatibility problem and why?

Chances are that it will work because they are both 775. You will have to check to make sure that the FSB of the processor matches that of the board. If you can provide the name of the board and the processor your going to purchase.

Yeah, they are both 800MHz. So that's the only compatibility area of concern?
