Try it in a virtual machine first, it will work, with a little tweaking chris did a video a while ago, I believe

I've always gotten my Chromium OS images from here. However, I would advise you to run it on a VM first to make sure you know what you're getting. Chromium OS/Chrome OS is essentially just a web browser. It's not hard to get installed and you may find that it works for you if the majority of the things you do are in a browser.
