Samsung Notebook Series 3 Crashes a lot

Hello people,

I have a Samsung Notebook series 3, specs below. And it's not that bad but it always chrashes when its in standby, maybe this is something with eset on Windows 8 but I don't know. Maybe you guys can help me? I updated everything and as far as Eset can tell there are not any virusses. Samsung Support Center says that BSoD are detected but as you read, I never get to see them.

Specs: Windows 8 Pro Upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5 2nd gen with 6 gb ram, Intel HD graphics 3000, Nvidia GT 520 M, 1 TB HDD, Energy star Samsung, Eset Smart Security 5.

Hello Florian,

I have found that the easiest way to determine if you have a hardware vs. software fault is to download, burn, then boot to a live Linux CD/DVD and see if it happens within that environment. If it doesn't, it's Windows, if it does, it's likely something going on with the hardware.

I believe most of the newer distros support standby- if anyone here knows otherwise, please do pipe in?
