YouTube not keeping buffer progress upon replay of a video?

Hello. Recently I have had some issues with YouTube... Well I've had a lot lately as a few of you may know from a less recent question. But lately YouTube hasn't kept the progress of it's buffer when I play and replay a video. I sometimes for example really like a song and want to hear it again or show my friend something cool I found, but I have to reload it. Even now as I type this, I watch YouTube's little grey bar almost falling behind the red bar because I am replaying it. So have any of you had this problem? What could be wrong?

I am currently on my strongest network that is operating fine, using my MacBook Pro 15" retina base spec. My provider is Century Link. All other websites are loading fine and network speeds are decent and steady. Edit: I added a picture showing what happens when I click the replay button alt text

I believe they changed the way videos load. If you're not watching the video it won't load past a certain point. I guess to lower server usage and whatnot.

It's sadly a little annoying on slower connections with the server :/ But thanks for the answer!
