To get your feet wet- & have a bit of fun doing so:

http://www.codecademy.com/#!/exercises/0

Free & a really great site, too.

Cheers!

This question has been asked so many times on this site and others... a way to start to learn to program is research, it is a valuable skill every programmer needs to know, i seguest you start there and search this site, and others for a similar question.

I recommend Khan Academy and Lynda.com https://www.khanacademy.org/cs/tutorials/programming-basics

The only way to learn it is to do it. Personally my first exposure was a lynda.com tutorial on php years ago. Today I'm a decent pro developer! You can learn it on your own, it just takes time and actually doing it.

Also get comfortable with stackoverflow.com. Not every question you will have will be answered, but most will.

Start with some YouTube tutorials, in the language you want to start off with. Try not to pick something to complex for you first language. Maybe like, PHP, JavaScript or C (maybe).
