I am wondering if I should upgrade to windows 8 on my secondary PC? I use my 13" Macbook Pro as my main computer and this is just connected to my tv. In fact, it doesn't have a wireless card so it has not internet access for the time being. Currently, I only use it to play some PC games (gta san andreas, sims 2, sims 3, ect), but soon I will find some other uses for it (media centre). It is quite powerful so do not worry about whether windows will run. BTW its running Win7 |

When its not a touch based device and you are already running Windows 7 I generally advice against investing in an upgrade to Windows 8 as I feel on a non-touch based device it does not have a lot of excellent new things to bring into the equation. If you do have touch-based input you may want to look into it as its obviously designed with touch in mind. Even then I don't like Windows 8 myself but that is just my opinion. |

Just to add my opinion as I am a Windows 8 user, there is nothing wrong with using Windows 8 on non-touch screen devices, I personally think it runs rather well, I don't have a touch screen monitor and I am using a keyboard and mouse. My advice would be to see it in action before installing it, or if you feel adventurous then you could just install it. In the end, we can only advise, ultimately it's up to you. |
I use win8 on my laptop and I love it. I also do not have touch screen montor. |

Ok hear is my opinion go to your nearer windows retailer. Tell them To show you a non touch based computer running 8 Then tell them to leave you for a wile try using it for as long as you can then Go home see the windows 8 animated evaluation on YouTube Then again on a separate day repeat the first step If you think you can cope with the problems and accept its amazing features ( believe me there are some good features ) Then go ahead and and upgrade else no but till then May the force be with you |
