The title may have you a bit mislead, I wouldn't blame you if it does. Okay, so I have a Mac (2010 13" MBP, pretty nice machine, while old). I have been doing some flash programming, aswell as playing a couple Windows only games in Windows 7 with Bootcamp. This has always been a secondary kind of "only if I really HAVE to" thing for me. Though lately, I have been booting up to it a lot more and, dare I say it, hmm how do I explain it. Kind of felt like switching back. I mean, kind of liked having everything compatible. I mean WTF is wrong with me??? I suppose I just hate having to reboot, and the more I use it, the less I hate Windows 7. I hate 8 though. HATE 8! 7 though, seems like a good OS. I have always loved Apple and still, sort of do. (Got Nexus 7 for Christmas, iOS has lots of flaws it doesn't) Am I addicted to compatibility? I was think of seriously making my Mac partition 'just for Mac apps when I need it' and making it smaller than Windows. Is this a short phase? What is happening? Is it realistic to turn my Mac to a mainly Windows Machine? WTF is wrong with me? sigh, what do you guys think? Will I regret this move 5 mins after making it? Should I make it? No? Yes? Sorry for rambling and not trying to start a flame war. Has anyone else ever felt like this? |

Switch to Decaf, you sound like you just had a whollleee ton of coffee :) I constantly switch between various linux distros and Windows 7 & 8. Partitions are your friends. Use Windows, if you need to, even go ahead and expand the boot camp partition a little. If after ten minutes you decide that it was a bad idea and you hate your life and you're not going to switch to decaf like that nice @Zbob750 told you to, then you can just boot back into OS X and shrink the Windows partiton. Like it never happened. The OS you use is a very personal and opinionated decision. As I have said time and time again when it comes to questions like this: You cannot make an informed decision until you spend an extended amount of time with each of them. Hell, if you're feeling curious find a solid linux distro (I tend to prefer the debian based ones, but to each their own) and play around with it. A lot of times people just need to expand their horizons a little bit, try new things, go back and try old things. Short Version: Why not? Go back give it a shot, if you don't like it just go back to the way you were doing things before. |

If in the end you really feel compelled to switch you should do so, you almost make it look like its a crime or some sort of disease. Its software dude, big deal. OSX isen't all that great, its not some sort of beacon of perfection and using Windows instead has entirely sane reasons. In fact using OSX just because its OSX or its from Apple is stupid. Computers should do what you need them to do, not the other way around. I'm a huge linux fan yet I usually run Windows on my Workhorse PC based on simply on the fact that dualboot to me is way to much of a hassle every time i feel like shooting things. :P So I use Windows, because you know. It works better for my purpose on the particular machine at this particular point it time. This can and probably will change in the future. My laptop usually (not at the moment) has Linux on it as it does not do gaming. |

Ok buddy this is a no-brainer if I have under stood what you have asked lets just say you want to 1) creat a bigger partition on your mac of windows than OSx 2) you don't want to loose mac apps Ok the u seem have got comfortable with the windows and the android os's rather than the apple ones os I think for just comfort sake Either you can try the parallels (trial ) and see its the right move or you can just go ahead make a windows partition and if for any reason you regret it you will have to only re format you mac with OSx so just make an OSx backup cd ( tutorial on YouTube ) and you can always switch back |

sounds like a "FirstWorldProblem"
Eh, yah probably!
Why u no build a pc box with windows 7? that might help.
I don't want to get a new computer, that's why.
