Can PC games be patched to work on Lion?

I have the 2012 Macbook Air and would like to play some of my old Total War games such as Rome and maybe Medieval, they'll run fine on it but i don't want to install bootcamp due to the limited drive space. Can anyone direct me towards a patch if one exists to play these games on the mac using the PC version of the games, don't think there's any others atm

You may have some success using Wine for Mac OS X. http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX Good luck.

I didn't feel like creating an answer to say the exact same thing. Wine is your best option, it is a bit touchy but you'd be surprised at what you can get to run with it.
