My uncle recently passed away, and I inheirited his Macbook Pro. My grandparents want the files off of the computer so that they can go through invoices and reciepts (he owned a business) and make sure everything was taken care of. I cannot access the files, however, because he password locked the computer. I plan to install a fresh copy of mountain lion anyway, so is there anyway to get into the files so I can transfer them to another computer? Thanks!

You might be able to access the files by taking out the HDD and putting it in a special container/connector (not sure how you'd call it) that you can then connect it to a different computer and access the files like just another HDD.

If that doesn't work I'd recommend going to the Apple Store and see if they can help you.
